The Family

Divorce sucks. It suuuuucks. Ellen filed for divorce, and now I have no idea what the heck I'm supposed to be doing. It's difficult to be supportive because I'm somehow trying to maintain a relationship with both of them, though of course I should be spending more time with Ellen than I spend with Josh because she and I fell out of the same mother and all that.

It's my birthday on Saturday, and my friend who was planning the party just told me that she doesn't know what to do because Josh and Ellen both asked her something like, "So, what are we doing for Karyn's birthday?!?!?!??!?!" If they can't be in the same room and all that, then I guess we're doing nothing, because I'm not about to have two separate events to protect them from confronting the consequences of their divorce that I have to confront all the time.

Anyway, divorce sucks, and I thought I should let you guys know because this has been on my mind all the time and is a large part of why I have all but abandoned my own blog. Graduate school is incredibly busy and stressful and I don't have time to do that AND "feel my feelings" about this unbelievably horrible situation.

So, they're treating me like a child of their divorce by putting me in the middle of things, even though I'm neither a child, nor their child.

But I sure can whine like one. =)

I miss you guys more than I could possibly tell you. Everything was easier in Arkansas. Especially driving, because ice is scary. Two and a half semesters left.

I think that's the end of my rant.
